Today we’d like to take you to La Vieille Charité. We really like this XVIIth century old hospice now turned into a museum. Simplicity yet elegance capture the attention of the visitor in the heart of the oldest neighborhood in Marseille, Le Vieux Panier. As we stroll in the lively streets, mingling with a somewhat agitated crowd, we like to pause for a while in this monument surrounded by a courtyard. Everything is quiet and exquisite there. This place where poor, orphans, sick people and prostitutes were confined now shelter exhibits. Art and History unveiled behind the dome and the stones of Pierre Puget’s construction. Let us take you in a sanctuary of peace, culture and History.
